LOS COLORES

L O S  C O L O R E S

During October we were talking about colors and it was incredible fun.

We make some experiments by mixing primary colors (amarillo, azul and rojo) to discover secondary colors (verde, naranja and morado).

Also was a good excuse to get messy finding the power of blanco and how can change colors to make them lighter like: negro – gris and rojo - rosado.

And finally was the moment to talk about otoño (fall) and the incredible colors that we can see during this season (café, amarillo, naranja and rojo).

Definitely was a busy month with all the activities, books, songs and some videos that we used to learn.

I hope you had fun doing the homework with your child. Thanks again for your support with the Spanish program.

This link has a song that can give you some help if you want to keep practicing:

LOS NUMEROS

LOS NUMEROS

This year we start the Spanish class talking about números (numbers), the idea with this topic is to get some tools for future activities and also to support the daily routine of the calendar.

The progress of the activity started with identification of the numbers, then we move to counting and after that they were able to play and do some extra activities to improve the recognition and memorization.

All this process was support by Montessori material, songs, books and some videos to help the listening skills but also they work on at the classroom doing some tracing.

I’m sure you are going to enjoy at home supporting your child by playing the domino game that was sent and also feel free to look at this link to get some extra help

Hasta la próxima,

Spanish Oct 2015

For October we had been talking about shapes and at the same time that those were introduced we used them to make a review of the counting unit.

This time teaching shapes also was a great way to practice some other concepts like classification and patterns to learn and keep the new words.

This is the vocabulary that you can practice at home with your child:
1)    Círculo – circle
2)    Cuadrado - square
3)    Triangulo - triangle
4)    Ovalo - oval
5)     Rectángulo - rectangle
6)     Rombo - diamond
7)    Estrella - star
8)    Luna  - moon
9)    Corazón – heart

Hasta la próxima,

Sra.Romero

There are some proofs of how they worked in the class.

Spanish October 2015

1,2 y 3 cuenta conmigo

This year we started our program learning numbers and using them in different activities to get familiar with them.

Most of the activities were worked with Montessori materials that the children find in the classroom and are familiar with.

Beside that we used numbers to play.

And even to reinforce fine motor skills.

This topic is just the beginning of the program counting from 0 to 10 but it will grow at the same time that new vocabulary is being introduced.

Spanish January

VEO, VEO. …FORMAS Y FIGURAS

Today one more step up with the end of another great topic that children enjoyed and found really useful.

This year to teach shapes I found how benefit was to help the children to learn and keep the vocabulary on their minds by showing them that shapes are everywhere and how much things we can build or created based on them.

The names of the shapes were introduced in small groups:
1)    Circulo, cuadrado, triangulo.
2)    Ovalo, rectangulo y rombo.
3)    Estrella, luna y corazon.

and each group was worked with a different activity.

Making this the children were able to get very easy all the information: there are some proof of how they worked in the class.

Hasta la proxima,

Arco iris

Great month and great topic, talk about colors it is just an amazing challenge because all the tools and ideas that can be use to help the children to recognize, identify and learn them.

And that’s how was made it:

The children started working matching colors cards and then they made their own booklet about primary colors Amarillo, azul y rojo

Then we worked together mixing to discover new colors, that’s how we created:
 naranja, verde y morado.

After that some songs, books and games were enough to learn café, rosado, gris, negro y blanco

And finally to close the topic nothing better than a coloring page to review all what we learned during the month and  see “el arco iris de colores “.

So now that you know how we made it don’t forget to help practicing and keep learning together at home.

Hasta luego,
