Spanish Oct 2015

For October we had been talking about shapes and at the same time that those were introduced we used them to make a review of the counting unit.

This time teaching shapes also was a great way to practice some other concepts like classification and patterns to learn and keep the new words.

This is the vocabulary that you can practice at home with your child:
1)    Círculo – circle
2)    Cuadrado - square
3)    Triangulo - triangle
4)    Ovalo - oval
5)     Rectángulo - rectangle
6)     Rombo - diamond
7)    Estrella - star
8)    Luna  - moon
9)    Corazón – heart

Hasta la próxima,

Spanish October 2015

1,2 y 3 cuenta conmigo

This year we started our program learning numbers and using them in different activities to get familiar with them.

Most of the activities were worked with Montessori materials that the children find in the classroom and are familiar with.

Beside that we used numbers to play.

And even to reinforce fine motor skills.

This topic is just the beginning of the program counting from 0 to 10 but it will grow at the same time that new vocabulary is being introduced.

Spanish January

VEO, VEO. …FORMAS Y FIGURAS

Today one more step up with the end of another great topic that children enjoyed and found really useful.

This year to teach shapes I found how benefit was to help the children to learn and keep the vocabulary on their minds by showing them that shapes are everywhere and how much things we can build or created based on them.

The names of the shapes were introduced in small groups:
1)    Circulo, cuadrado, triangulo.
2)    Ovalo, rectangulo y rombo.
3)    Estrella, luna y corazon.

and each group was worked with a different activity.

Making this the children were able to get very easy all the information: there are some proof of how they worked in the class.

Hasta la proxima,
